The plot is not the only reason to play Alien: Isolation Survival Horror Game though. Due to the nature of the game, it can also serve as a prequel to the successful Alien movie series. This is actually a common occurrence in today’s society, when a game is created to tell a story before its sequels or other big news releases. The Alien Isolation game tells a story that ties directly into the first movie. While you are trying to save the human population from the evil xenomorphs, you’ll encounter many familiar faces from the movies as well.
The Alien Isolation is a 2014 survival horror video game; developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega originally for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Alien: Isolation received several year-end awards, including PC Gamer‘s Game of the Year 2014, Audio Achievement at the 11th British Academy Games Awards, Best Audio at the 15th Game Developers Choice Awards, and four awards at the 14th National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers.
Playing the game does not require any prior knowledge of the movie. Most people who purchase the game never even saw the movie because it was such a popular one. The majority of the game takes place on the Nostromo; a research vessel that was stranded with the crew and passengers of the Pangolin in the year 20 Ridley Scott’s Alien movie. The ship was taken over by the Xenomorphs, creatures that are about ten feet in height and have sharp teeth. You can jump right into the game if you start from the very beginning; but you will have to find your way through the rest of the ship as it slowly becomes clearer.
The graphics are quite solid and the sound effects, while not particularly exciting; do a pretty good job of creating a sense of space. Even on the lowest settings the visuals are gorgeous. Unfortunately, there are quite a few problems with the game. However, these problems are easily fixed by updating the game or by playing other players.

Overall the Alien Isolation video game is quite fun to play. The fighting feels very realistic and the storyline is interesting. However, it is unfortunate that this game is only available on Xbox, meaning that it is not available for purchase on PC. This does not matter much though, as the game is a lot of fun and worth buying even on a console.
It would have been nice to see a bit more development on the storyline, but overall the game is quite fun to play. It is worth checking out if you happen to enjoy sci-fi action video games. I know I do. What are you waiting for?
